OS X's application menu on Windows
XLaunchpad is the Windows version of Launchpad, Mac OS X's application menu.
Much like iPadian and other desktop customization applications, XLaunchpad aims to make your PC's desktop more like a Mac interface, giving you the best of both worlds. With XLaunchpad, you get all the benefits of this type of menu system, but extended to any document, file and folder on your computer.
XLaunchpad allows you to add shortcuts and organize by folders. You can adjust the size of your desktop icons, activate them from the system tray or by pressing F12. You can even make XLaunchpad a permanent feature on your desktop so you don't have to activate it every time you want to access your PC programs.
To add new shortcuts to XLaunchpad simply drag and drop the file in question. The shortcut will be created automatically. By default, you will have access to Documents, Network, Recycle Bin and Control Panel folders. You can also organize apps into specific folders.
XLaunchpad gives you instant access to all your shortcuts in Mac OS X's visually appealing Launchpad interface.

Xlaunchpad almost there.
MoreI haven't used the app xlaunchpad is based on, but I've been a long-time fan of Rocketdock, a quick access application launcher/sorter (a la Mac). There was nothing to match it until now. Well, mostly. Xlaunchpad is intuitive and slick. It appears over the screen so it has a lot more space to organize applications and folders, and creating those folders, as with the iphone, is as simple as dropping one icon onto another. Wonderful if you wish to access a lot of frequently used applications, project folders, current audiobooks and whatnot. The only fly in the ointment (and this may be limited to my aging machine) is that it becomes unresponsive, requiring the Task Manager to kill the process. Frustrating for an otherwise perfect app.
Pros:
Quick, intuitive, elegant. Best app of its kind I've seen.
Cons:
Sometimes becomes unresponsive and has to be restarted. Would like explanation of Desk Mode, etc.
